What restaurants & cafes needs, and what motion graphics answers

The pairing is only worth briefing if each sector constraint maps to something the deliverable actually does.

The work

Motion Graphics for Restaurants & Cafes

Motion Graphics for Restaurants & Cafes has to survive being watched on mute, at half speed, on a phone in a lift. Kinetic typography, data motion and brand-system animation. We work as a production unit, not a rental desk — the same team that writes the script is on set for the shoot and in the room for the final grade, which is why the film that gets delivered still resembles the one that was approved.

Food video is appetite engineering — steam, texture and timing decide the order. In practice that changes the entire production plan. The person approving the film is usually the owner / marketing manager, the hardest constraint on set is service-hour shooting windows, and the number that decides whether the project was worth it is average order value. We design the schedule, the script and the deliverable set around those three realities.

Scripts get locked before the camera is booked, because rewriting in post is the most expensive way to write. The strongest performing cuts are almost never the longest ones. A typical motion graphics engagement runs 7-12 days end to end with 3-5 artists on the production days, and lands between ₹20k and ₹1.8L depending on scale.

Process

Six stages, no surprises

Sector approvals are scheduled as stages, not treated as interruptions.

  1. Stage 01Day 1-3

    Discovery & brief lock

We sit with the people who actually own the outcome — usually sales, HR or the founder — and get to what the film has to change. The output is a one-page brief with a single measurable objective, not a mood board.

  2. Stage 02Day 3-7

    Script & treatment

A written script, a shot-by-shot treatment and reference frames. Nothing is booked until this is signed. This is the cheapest place to change your mind and the most expensive place to skip.

  3. Stage 03Day 6-10

    Recce & pre-production

Location recce in Pune, casting, permissions, art direction and a shotlist with timings. 3-5 artists are scheduled against that list so the shoot day has no dead hours.

  4. Stage 04Shoot days

    Production

Filming with After Effects, Cinema 4D, Lottie export. We shoot for every deliverable in one pass — master, cutdowns and vertical crops — instead of returning for pickups later.

  5. Stage 05Day 10-18

    Post-production

Assembly, edit, sound design, colour grade and graphics. Reviews run on timestamped links with two structured revision rounds included in the schedule.

  6. Stage 06Final week

    Delivery & rollout

Platform-correct exports, subtitle files, thumbnails and a short rollout note on where each cut belongs. Makes numbers and abstract claims watchable.

Deep dive

How motion graphics actually gets made

Motion graphics workstation with 3D animation on screen — Pune
In post

The part of motion graphics that decides the outcome is pre-production, and it is the part most quotes compress. A shotlist that maps every deliverable to a specific setup means a 3-5 artists unit can cover in one day what an unplanned crew spreads across three. That is where the cost difference between a disciplined production and a cheap one actually shows up — not in the day rate, but in how many days you end up paying for.

On set we run After Effects, Cinema 4D, Lottie export because the format has to hold up under grading and cropping later. Shooting at higher resolution than the delivery spec is not vanity: it is what allows a single wide take to yield a clean 16:9 master and a 9:16 vertical cut without a second shoot. Across Pune the practical variables are ambient noise, power stability and access windows, all of which we lock during the recce.

Post-production is where the film either becomes an asset or a folder nobody opens. The assembly edit answers whether the story works; the fine cut answers whether it holds attention; the grade and mix answer whether it feels like it came from a serious company. For restaurants & cafes clients we also build the delivery-platform conversion narrative directly into the structure, because that is what the owner / marketing manager is actually evaluating.

Use cases we plan for on this kind of project include report visualisation, keynote support, channel branding. Each one implies a different length, a different opening and a different call to action, which is exactly why we produce a set of cuts rather than one film with a generic ending stitched on. Makes numbers and abstract claims watchable.

FAQ

Questions we get asked first

How much does motion graphics cost in Pune?

Realistic budgets run from ₹20k for a focused single-day production up to ₹1.8L for a full-scale build with a larger crew, art direction and extended post. The variables that actually move the number are shoot days, crew size, talent, locations and how many cutdowns you need. We quote line-by-line, so you can see exactly what a day of 3-5 artists or an extra grading pass costs before you approve anything.

Do you provide regional language versions?

Marathi, Hindi and English are handled in-house with native voice artists, and we run a sync QC pass on every dub. Subtitle files are delivered as both burned-in variants and separate SRTs so the same master works on broadcast, social and an internal LMS.

Can you shoot at our own premises?

Yes. We shoot on-site across Pune and PCMC and bring our own power, lighting and sound control. A recce before the shoot day lets us design around ceiling height, ambient noise and access windows.

How long does the whole process take?

Plan for 7-12 days from locked brief to final master for a standard motion graphics project. Pre-production takes the largest share of that window because scripting, casting and location recce decide how efficient the shoot day is. Fast-track schedules are possible when the script is already approved and the locations are fixed.

Who owns the raw footage?

You do, for the licensed deliverables. Raw rushes are archived for twelve months and can be handed over on a drive at cost. We do not hold footage hostage as a retention tactic — the reason clients come back is the next project, not the archive.

What if we do not like the first cut?

Two revision rounds are standard and built into the timeline. Reviews happen on a timestamped review link so feedback is attached to the exact frame instead of arriving as a paragraph of notes. Structural changes after the first cut is approved are quoted separately, which is precisely why the script lock stage exists.

What do we actually receive at the end?

The delivery kit includes motion film, lower-third kit, animated logo sting, plus platform-correct exports, subtitle files and a clearly licensed archive of the master. You own the finished deliverables outright, and we hand over the project files on request so no future vendor is locked out.
